St. Timothy's was fortunate to locate and purchase a wonderful used pipe organ from First Baptist Church, Decatur, IL. It is a three manual 36 rank 1967 Wicks rebuilt by John Paul Buzard in 1997. Now that First Baptist Church has moved to a new building, the organ has been removed from the old facility.

The organ was posted for sale on December 30,2004. We were the first to respond with dozens of other churches around the world in line after us. On February 14, 2005, two representatives from St. Timothys went to Decatur to inspect the organ. The Buzard organ company then sent representatives to St. Timothy's to insure the installation would be physically possible.

The church vestry approved the project and the capital campaign kicked off Nov 5, 2005. The organ was installed  beginning the last week of March 2006 and played for the first time on Sunday April 30, 2006. The formal dedicatory recital was on October 8, 2006 with Paul Jacobs as the guest organist prior to his performance at the Kimmel center in Feb,2007. A full slate of performances were held the winter of 2006-2007 featuring the organ.
Pipe Organ Transplanted
from Decatur, Illinois
The organ was physically intalled in the sanctuary before Easter 2006, Thank God it all fit as planned. The Buzard Company finished voicing the instrument and put the finishing touches on our wonderful new addition. Our Minister of Music Michael Berman treated the congregation to an impromptu recital and gave the organ a thourough test on Sunday April 30,  We look forward to many decades of wonderful music from this instrument. It was officially dedicated and blessed by Bishop Turner during his visit in June 2006.
