The Reverend Kirk T. Berlenbach, Rector
Rector of St. Timothy's since Easter 2003, Kirk was born in Philadelphia in 1969 and raised in Haddonfield, NJ. He received his BA in Philosophy from Hamilton College in New York and his Masters of Divinity from Princeton Theological Seminary. He also has a Master of Social Work from Rugters. He was ordained a priest in 1999.
Kirk is proud to be serving in great city of Philadelphia. Kirk's great-grandfather was also a priest. The Reverend Thomas Edmund della Cioppa served as the Episcopal missionary to the Italian people of South Philadelphia in the early 1900's. Kirk is honored to follow in this legacy.  
Before coming to work at St. Timothy's, Kirk worked extensively in the mental health field, as a chaplain at a general hospital and for a hospice care organization. Most recently, he served as Assistant Rector and Youth Minister at St. Alban's, Newtown Square. In addition to serving as Rector, Kirk is a member of the Diocesan Council, is the VP of the Board of Northlight Community Center, a member of the Board of Directors of Pensdale Village and a member of Interac's Mental Health Adivosry Committee.
Kirk is happily married to Rebekah Sassi, the Director of Institutional Advancement at Walnut Street Theater. They have two children, Ethan, 7, and Emma,5.
The Reverend Carl J. Knapp, Deacon
Carl Knapp was ordained a Vocational Deacon in June 1982, concurrently serving as deacon in the church and Vice Principal of Lincoln High School. Carl holds a Bachelor of Science from West Chester University, a Master of Science from the University of Pennsylvania, and a Master of Arts from LaSalle University.
After 41 years in education – 15 years as a math teacher at Roxborough High School – Carl retired. Outside of the classroom Carl served for numerous years as an Episcopal Community Services prison-chaplain at the now defunct Holmesburg Prison. He has been serving St. Timothy’s as deacon since his ordination 25 years ago!
He spends time with his wife of more than 40 years, Joanne and their son Carl, daughter-in-law Leslie and granddaughter Jessica (a.k.a. “The Princess”). The parish often appreciates Carl and Joanne’s delicious work in the parish kitchen, cooking and serving food for parish dinners.
After active involvement as a Spiritual Director in the “Happening Movement,” a national retreat program for high-school students, he has become involved in the “Cursillo Movement.”

Michael Berman began serving St. Timothy’s as “Minister of Music” in August, 2004. He is not only the organist and choir director but, with his experience as an organ technician, has been instrumental in helping St. Timothy’s locate and purchase a used pipe organ. Michael, son of a United Methodist pastor, spent most of his childhood in Northern Illinois before moving to New Jersey to complete a Bachelor’s Degree in Sacred Music from Westminster Choir College.
  Michael has served in various churches before coming to St. Tim’s and is currently on the staff of the Valley Forge Choir of Men and Boys as an organist and assistant choirmaster.

Janice Fetscher, Parish Administrator
John O'Neill, Sexton
Janice Fetscher came to St. Timothy's in November of 2007. She has 15 years experience in parish work, as well as experience running her own business. Janice is a life-long resident of Roxborough and loves working in her home town. When not working at St. Timothy's, Janice loves spending time with her family, going to farmer's markets & flea markets and, and just enjoying life.
John O'Neill has been the Sexton at St. Timothy's since Spring, 2003. He comes to the church with a lot of experience having owned his own home-repair and building company. The buildings and grounds at St. Timothy's have benefitted from his hard work and dedication.
John lives by himself in the Sexton's House and enjoys surfing at the Jersey shore whenever he gets a chance.
